While liposuction can remove up to 5 liters of fat in a single treatment, it's not uncommon for patients to experience swelling and fluid retention after removing more than 3 liters of fat. This may cause a feeling of bloating, but it typically subsides after a few days. Once the swelling has gone down, you will be able to see the final results of your liposuction. In some cases, liposuction may cause the development of blue skin. This is more common in patients who already have loose skin due to pregnancy or significant weight loss.
However, in most cases, the skin will tighten over time.
